Disclaimer

FormCost publishes general information about state filing fees and deadlines for limited liability companies. It is not legal, tax, accounting or financial advice, and using the site does not create an attorney–client or accountant–client relationship.

We collect fees from official state websites and record the date we last checked each figure. Amounts marked "unverified" come from secondary sources. States change fees, forms and deadlines, sometimes with little notice, so always confirm the current amount on the official state website before you file.

Calculator results are estimates of known state charges only. They exclude income, sales, payroll and local taxes, local business licences, professional licensing and optional services, and they don't tell you whether your activities legally require registration in another state. For advice about your situation, talk to a licensed attorney or tax professional.

Tax calculators. The S-corp, cost-of-hiring and quarterly tax calculators give estimates using simplified 2026 federal rules (IRS and SSA figures), approximate state income tax brackets from Tax Foundation data, and state unemployment and workers' compensation rates that may differ from what your business is assigned. They ignore many items that can change your result, including credits, itemised deductions, local income taxes, retirement contributions, health insurance, multi-state income and specified-service limits on the QBI deduction. Reasonable compensation for S-corp owners is a facts-and-circumstances question; our suggested salary is an assumption, not a safe amount. Use the results to plan, then confirm with a CPA or enrolled agent.
